Our Mission
Raise awareness and spike interest in nature-based solutions by managing regenerative systems such as agroforestry at Madeira Archipelago
Human detachment from nature brings collective and individual suffering. Collective suffering comes with our growth model crisis, worsened by climate change. Personal suffering comes through a general well-being decrease, evidenced by rising anxiety levels and the youth's absence of creativity and inspiration. These perspectives feed themselves in a vicious cycle. The shift to a virtuous cycle lies in changing values and actions of individuals and businesses, where the environment and society are the centres. A systemic change will arise when individuals understand that they can benefit from a new nature-centred model. Oceanum's purpose is to break this vicious cycle by managing regenerative systems while implementing nature-based solutions. By doing so, it is possible to create a sustainable, resilient and diverse environment that supports local communities and wildlife. Madeira Archipelago will serve as an example of how regenerative systems can be successfully implemented.
